Over the past weekend, the Carabinieri of the Radiomobile Section and the Marina di Ragusa Station arrested a 31-year-old Tunisian citizen in flagrante delicto for aggravated sexual assault.

I Carabinieri of the Radiomobile Section and of the Marina di Ragusa Station over the past weekend they arrested a 31-year-old Tunisian citizen in flagrante delicto for aggravated sexual assault.
The incident originated from a report to 112 by a young man on holiday in the seaside district of Ragusa, who requested the intervention of the Carabinieri because a friend of hers had been abused by a non-EU citizen. The gazelle intervened promptly, arriving on site and succeeding immediately to identify the alleged perpetrator, who in the heat of the moment tried to escape by running through the streets of the centre.
However, the soldiers, who set out in pursuit, managed to reach the 31-year-old and block him, arousing applause among other things from the bystanders who had witnessed the scene. The investigations carried out immediately made it possible to reconstruct how the non-EU citizen had approached the victim, a 15-year-old on holiday with her family, while she was taking a dip in the sea, holding her and groping her.
Fortunately, the girl managed to free herself and escape, alerting her friends present there. Furthermore, at the time of the checks the Tunisian he was found in possession of some wire cutters, probably used for bicycle thefts.
For these reasons, the 31-year-old was declared under arrest by the Carabinieri for the crime of aggravated sexual violence and at the same time reported for resisting a public official and possession of break-in tools. After the formal procedures, the arrested person was taken to the Ragusa prison as ordered by the Judicial Authority.
