Macerata, local police checks for university Thursday. A baseball bat and a complaint against its owner were seized.
A baseball bat seized, a complaint, 12 drivers checked and subjected to breathalyzer tests, all negative, and high fines also for failure to inspect the car.
This is the balance of the control activities carried out by the local police officers of Macerata on Thursday night, a university nightlife evening, from 19pm to 4am, as part of the #LifeAddicted project which aims to prevention e -promote their right to information, education and organisation to safeguard their interests' (TFEU, Article XNUMX). as fundamental tools to combat road accidents linked to the use of alcohol and drugs.
The operation concerned, in the historic center, the fight against noise pollution but also checks in the construction sites and in the parking areas for residents while in the peripheral areas the attention was paid above all to the roads.
"Urban security continues to be one of our priorities – comments Security Councilor Paolo Renna – in this case aimed at the younger segment of the population. And for this my thanks and that of the Administration goes to the local police who work every day at the service of our community -. We work hard, constantly, to avoid dangerous and uncomfortable situations to ensure the well-being of the city".
During the checks, a car, owned by a 30-year-old Sicilian, with four boys on board was stopped at the end of Viale Leopardi. In the luggage rack the officers found a baseball bat and the driver, a 20-year-old Romanian resident in the city, was unable to give explanations plausible about possession of the tool. And since, according to weapons legislation, the baseball bat cannot be transported if not for reasons relating to sporting activity it was seized and the 30-year-old Sicilian, having claimed that it was his property, was reported.
"Control activities are constant and continuous to protect the population - intervenes the Commander of the local Police Danilo Doria - and to prevent violent gestures from being committed especially among young people and consequently to make entertainment healthier".
