On 29 August 2024, the State Police executed the Order for the application of a personal precautionary measure with the simultaneous submission to house arrest with electronic “bracelet”, against a 34 year old from Maglie, issued for the crimes of aggravated personal injury, violation of domicile, robbery, damage that he allegedly committed against the ex-girlfriend and current partner.

The measure was triggered by investigative activities carried out by the police officers of the Taurisano Police Station.
In particular, on August 19, a couple showed up at the police station. The two filed separate complaints against her ex-boyfriend, a 34-year-old from Maglie.

The same people reported that on 12.08.2024, at around 02.30, the latter, equipped with a baseball bat, After climbing over the surrounding wall and breaking the glass of the entrance door, he broke into the woman's apartment, located in Santa Maria di Leuca, physically assaulting her and her current boyfriend. The two reported that they had been awakened with a start by violent blows on the entrance door of the apartment. Sensing that it could be her ex-boyfriend, they tried to ignore him for a few minutes but the man, with a baseball bat he broke the glass of the door and entered the house.

At this point the man began hitting the complainant on the shoulder and head with the baseball bat, he defended himself and a fight broke out, so violent that it caused several damages to the furniture. While the victim, severely beaten, remained bleeding on the floor, the attacker approached the woman, remained motionless with fear, and hit her with a violent slap on the left ear, knocking her to the ground, stunned, and hitting her again as she stood up. At that point, the woman took refuge in the bedroom, locking herself in.

A few moments later, the attacker, in an arrogant tone, ordered her to leave the room and accompany her current boyfriend to the hospital, aware of the seriousness of the wounds he himself had inflicted. The woman left the room and accompanied her current boyfriend to the Emergency Room in Tricase. Left alone at home the attacker stole 120 euros from a table.

At first the victims did not report what had happened but, Having realized the seriousness of the incident in the following days, they decided to file a complaint.

As ordered by the investigating magistrate, immediately informed of the news of the crime, the police officers of the Taurisano Police Station found the attacker and applied the personal precautionary measure with simultaneous submission to house arrest with an electronic "bracelet".
