Latina: over 20 kilos of narcotics seized, including cocaine, hashish and marijuana. A 50-year-old arrested.

The State Police - Latina Police Headquarters has dealt a heavy blow to the drug traffickers of the Pontine province, seizing over twenty kilograms of drugs ready to invade the coast.

The police officers of the Flying Squad, as part of a wide-ranging investigation, were delegated by the Latina Public Prosecutor's Office to carry out a search of a 50-year-old from the capital.

The same, not easily available, was traced on the evening of Wednesday 4th after a few days of stakeout and accompanied to his home to carry out the delegated activity but, once informed of the activity to be carried out, he put in place a series of rebellious and extremely violent behavior, attempting to hit the police officers with a small homemade hook.

Not without difficulty has man been rendered harmless and, once inside the apartment, the reason for so much violence was understood: in various rooms of the building a significant amount of drugs was hidden and, precisely, about 15 kilograms of hashish, over 3 kilos of cocaine and over 5 kilos of marijuana as well as 40 pistol cartridges of various calibers and 2 bulletproof vests, one of which with the Securitas Metronotte logo. Over 2 kilos of hashish were found at his workplace.

The drug, if placed on the market, it would have brought in over 200.000 Euros to the criminals.

The man, arrested for possession of drugs for the purpose of dealing and for resisting and injuring a public official, is currently confined in the Latina prison.
