Latina, mafia pressure to sell house purchased at auction: five precautionary measures issued
Following the investigations of the Flying Squad with the coordination of the DDA, five precautionary measures were carried out in prison, including a residence ban. The charge is for attempted extortion aggravated with a mafia method for having threatened a man to resell the house he had won at auction at a favorable price to the old owners, linked to a mafia clan.

The State Police of Latina this morning carried out five precautionary measures in prison against as many people for the crime of attempted extortion, aggravated by the mafia method.
The investigations, conducted by policemen of the Flying Squad with coordination of the DDA.(District Anti-Mafia Directorate) of the Rome Public Prosecutor's Office, they originated from the complaint filed in October 2023 by a Latin citizen.
The latter had reported having been pressured in order to being forced to sell an apartment won at auction, where they had you resided a woman and her partner, deemed close to Camorra clans in the city of Naples.
The investigations carried out have allowed us to acquire serious indications of guilt regarding the commission of a series of intimidating acts carried out, starting since July last yearor, by three subjects, one of which considered in the past to be organic to the Agrigento Cosa Nostra.
During some meetings – during which there would have been mediation work turning from a member of an ethnic Roma family settled in the city of Latina – the victim would have been advised to sell the property at a lower price to that of market to the previous owners, introduce yourself as unsavory people originally from Naples, close to the city's Camorra clan, with the caveat that reject such a proposal he would exposed to unspecified retaliation. Subsequently, it would be her communicated that the previous owners were no longer interested to regain possession of the house, but they demanded €12.000 to consider the matter closed. In response to his hesitations, the representative of the Roma family would have stated that he could do nothing more to help him, also complaining about the lack of respect suffered e intending, for this reason alone, immediate payment of €2.000.
Un relevant circumstantial framework outlined by the investigative activity carried out, which led to the execution of four measures of custody in prison and a residence ban, executed between the cities of Latina, Rome and Naples. Contextually, they were personal and local search decrees were carried out on all suspects and at the registered office and local units of a company attributable to two of these.
