It ended with the arrest of a suspect in the crime against two smugglers originally from Kyrgyzstan, the investigative activity carried out by the Flying Squad personnel, constantly engaged in counteracting the facilitation of illegal immigration relating to the migratory events that are often recorded in this province. It's about the landing on July 31st, related to 39 migrants of different nationalities, arrived at the port of City of Crotone after being rescued during the night by a patrol boat from the Port Authority of Crotone. From the first moment, the investigators' attention was focused on the only 2 Kyrgyz subjects who were on board the boat and who had their passports and some sums of money with them.
The testimonies collected by other foreigners were then decisive, as they reconstructed all the phases of the journey, starting from their own departure from the Turkish coasts untilarrival on the Crotone coasts which occurred on the morning of July 31st and also the analysis of the cellular devices used by the subjects, from which important elements investigated against the two suspects were obtained. At the end of the investigations, which made it possible to acquire decisive elements against the two foreigners and given the concrete risk of escape, they were placed in state of judicial police custody for crime of aiding and abetting illegal immigration and associates, at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Court of Crotone, at the local prison.
