“Inside Calabria”, the documentary against the 'Ndrangheta by Police and Interpol for the I-CAN project

The short summarizes the methods of combating organized crime

Concurrently of the arrest of the 'Ndrangheta fugitive Marc Feren Claude, known as BIART, which occurred on March 30, 2021, the State Police released the documentary “Inside Calabria”, created by 42°PARALLELO for the I–CAN Project (Interpol Cooperation Against 'Ndrangheta) and promoted by the Central Directorate of the Criminal Police, led by Prefect Vittorio Rizzi, together with Interpol, the largest multilateral police cooperation agency to which 194 countries in the world belong.

Prefect Rizzi will be leading an Interpol delegation visiting Italy in the next few days and will consequently have to offer them an overview of how - at the level of intelligence, operational and judicial - the country's institutions are challenging the 'Ndrangheta, fighting a trench war from within. Likewise, the effort to defend the Italian economic-social fabric is condensed in the video product "Inside Calabria".

“Inside Calabria” is a documentary short that lasts just over 6 minutes. In the video, the protagonists of the fight against the 'Ndrangheta talk about the regional, Italian and international ramifications of the mafia association and the methods used by the police to combat it. The 'Ndrangheta was born in Calabria in the last decades of the eighteenth century.

I-CAN is a project born less than a year ago and which has already achieved great results. Furthermore, I-CAN involves the Italian police forces and those of 10 countries around the world. Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, France, Germany, Switzerland, Uruguay and the USA all share the experience of fighting the 'Ndrangheta.
