In Varese good air quality: in 2024 only 3 days of exceeding PM10.

Since the beginning of 2024 the values ​​that measure the air quality of Varese have remained largely below the limits, thus determining positive conditions in environmental terms for the capital. According to data fromHarp in fact, they were PM3 exceeded only 10 days in Varese while the other fearsome pollutant, the nitrogen dioxide (NO2) he always remained below the limits.

The threshold not to be exceeded for NO2 is a maximum of 200 µg/m³ and Varese yesterday, 21 February, recorded a value of 63 µg/m³ and even only 16 µg/m³ of Pm10 when the threshold for fine particles is 50 µg/m³ not to exceed for a maximum of 35 days per year. So until now the quality of the air in Varese is good. This is a positive trend that has been underway for some years which sees Varese among the capitals where you can breathe better in Lombardy. A fact that emerges in these days in which pollution is giving no respite to various areas of our region.

The data emerging in these first winter months in fact demonstrate that working together with a view to sustainability puts us among the best cities for air quality."

And this is also thanks to the initiatives implemented by the administration: from interventions to improve energy efficiency on public buildings, such as schools and sports facilities, to measures to encourage sustainable mobility, to incentives to support the replacement of old systems in condominiums in favor of modern and efficient heating systems. Soon – continues the councilor – the boiler tender will be re-proposed given the excellent results achieved in recent years. In recent weeks the Municipality has planted over 200 trees in Campo dei Fiori."
