In recent days, the Carabinieri of the Operational Section of the Imperia Company have implemented a Cautionary Custody Order in prison against two Piedmontese convicted criminals living in a gypsy camp near Turin and held responsible for a home burglary and receiving stolen goods. , crimes perpetrated in Imperia at the end of November last year.
Le investigations of the Carabinieri began at the end of November following the discovery and seizure of a dark-coloured Fiat Punto abandoned near Piazza Unità Nazionale by the two suspects, who had fled when the police arrived after having been discovered by the owner of a house in which they were about to commit a theft.
Inside the car, whose license plate was later found to have been counterfeit to evade the city's video surveillance systems, the military had found Bulgarian keys, screwdrivers, pepper spray and other burglary tools, as well as various pieces of jewellery, items of clothing clearly of furtive origin and even a piece of paper with the name and address of what would probably have been one of the next victims.
Further investigations into the owner of the car and other findings then made it possible to reconstruct the entire route and the inspections carried out by the two subjects, both in the province of Imperia and in the western Savona area, in the days before the seizure of the car, obviously in addition to their complete identification.
Tracked down by the Carabinieri of the Imperia Company inside a nomad camp near Turin and associated with the prison of the Piedmontese capital, the two suspects, two brothers aged forty-eight and forty-nine, already known to the police for the same type of conducted, they will have to answer to the Imperia Prosecutor's Office for the crimes of aggravated residential burglary, receiving stolen goods, unjustified possession of burglary tools, as well as forgery of the license plate of the Fiat Punto in which they were travelling.
