Mantua. Yesterday 27 December 2023, the Carabinieri of the Castiglione delle Stiviere Company were engaged in a extraordinary territorial control service aimed at the prevention and repression of predatory crimes.
The activity of the military, also assisted by the helicopter of the 2nd Unit of Orio al Serio (BG), has in fact made it possible to identify 140 people in various capacities and control 100 vehicles in transit on the main road arteries, to release a non-EU citizen in a state of freedom and to arrest him in flagrante delicto, a twenty-five year old resident in the Upper Mantua area, as in the accusatory hypothesis held responsible for detention for the purpose of dealing drugs.
On this occasion the soldiers of via Torquato Tasso engaged in a daring chase with a known criminal, guilty of not having stopped at the patrols' height, who shortly before being reached, in a desperate attempt to cover their tracks, abandoned the car on which he was traveling trying to escape walk through the streets of the Aloisiano center. Followed on sight by the soldiers, the man was trying to get rid of a backpack, which was promptly recoveredinside which narcotic substance was recovered, divided into transparent cellophane, containing everything 10 gr. of Hashish and 400 gr. of Marijuana. The presence of the helicopter of the 2nd Orio al Serio Unit proved fundamental in assisting all territorial control operations from above, which they were led ashore by the patrols employed in the device.
