Has an anaphylactic shock while driving: woman saved by the Carabinieri.

The Carabinieri of the Ottiglio station saved a 62-year-old woman stuck in the car in the throes of an anaphylactic shock. It happened last Saturday on the SP 42, in Rosignano Monferrato, in the Montalbano area.

The Carabinieri were passing on patrol on the provincial road when suddenly they noticed something in front of them a white Peugeot 3008 which was suddenly slowing down to a crawl without control.

The soldiers, although the vehicle was moving, approached and noticed a woman behind the wheel with her head facing downwards, her eyes half closed and saliva leaking out of her mouth, practically unconscious.

Having perceived the immediate danger, one of the soldiers tried to open the door and call the woman without getting a response. One of the soldiers, therefore, without any hesitation, broke the front passenger window and, once inside the cockpit, he managed to activate the manual brake, blocking the vehicle's travel, shortly before it ended up in the drainage ditch adjacent to the provincial road.

In the meantime, the other soldier, in constant contact with 118, rescued the unconscious woman, immediately having her transported under code red to the emergency room of the Casale Monferrato hospital, where the doctors diagnosed her an anaphylactic shock caused by a hornet sting, which had drawn it shortly before he started driving.

The woman was saved thanks to the tenacity of the two soldiers involved in the daring rescue: the Commander of the Ottiglio Station, Chief Marshal Davide Destefanis and the Carabiniere Davide Viora. For him, that was the last day of service at the Ottiglio station before moving to another station in the province of Cuneo. The 62-year-old thanked the Carabinieri and was then released from hospital, out of danger.
