Giarre: Hides in Hospital and Kicks and Punches Wife While Working. 59-Year-Old Arrested.

This Public Prosecutor's Office, within the scope of an investigation into a 59-year-old from Mascali (CT), investigated for “threats, personal injury and disruption of public service”, requested and obtained from the GIP of the Court of Catania the precautionary measure of arrest, with application of the electronic bracelet, carried out by the Carabinieri of the local station.

The facts that gave rise to the issuing of the restrictive measure, in a stage of the proceedings in which the cross-examination with the suspect has not yet taken place, date back to last August and, in particular, are directly related to the arguments and misunderstandings that arose during the marital separation between the 59-year-old and his 58-year-old wife.

In fact, on August 7th, the man, blinded by anger, he had gone to the hospital in Giarre (CT), where his wife carries out her work activities and, therefore, after having hidden waiting for the latter to remain alone, he attacked from behind by punching her and threatening to kill her, thus causing her injuries that will heal in 8 days which, among other things, interrupted the public service she was providing at the health facility at that time.

The violent attack, fortunately, had been iinterrupted by the prompt intervention of a colleague of the victim, who, hearing the woman's screams, ran to her aid, grabbing the 59-year-old by the shoulders and forcing him to move away.
