Genoa, two people arrested with eight kilos of cocaine in the spare tire
On May 5th at 23:15 pm, two patrols from the Sampierdarena Highway Police subsection, a neighborhood of Genoa, during a highway patrol, checked a car and inside the spare tire they had hidden eight kilos of cocaine. Two people were arrested.

Two patrols from the Subsection of Traffic Police of Sampierdarena (Genoa), employed in motorway surveillance service, on May 5, 2024 at 23 pm they checked a rental car on the A12 est (direction Livorno) in the municipality of Genoa.
The occupants, two Italian citizens with no criminal record, a man and a woman, both 36 years old and resident in the Province of Prato, showed an unusual nervousness, which made the officers suspicious. The operators, given the situation, they carried out further checks, noting that the spare tire was a different size than the tires installed on the vehicle. Therefore, accompanied to the Subsection, the officers proceeded upon careful inspection of the spare tyre, finding inside it a large quantity of cocaine-type narcotic, for a gross weight of 8 kg.
Persons subjected to arrest, without prejudice to the presumption of innocence, at the disposal of the Judicial Authority, they were associated respectively with the Marassi and Pontedecimo prisons.
