Genoa, boy attacked by a group of 11 individuals: beaten with kicks, punches and stabs.

In the last few days, the State Police has arrested eleven young foreigners, including seven minors and four adults, held responsible for a violent robbery committed on the evening of May 29th to the detriment of a boy.

The attack took place around 22.40pm in the evening, in Piazza Caricamento, near the 13th terminus, when the group of suspects attacked a young man of Tunisian origin who following a beating, they stole his cell phone and approximately €200,00 in cash.

The victim, who knew most of his attackers, all compatriots, reported having been approached and threatened by the two subjects, believed to be the leaders of a small group of foreigners dedicated to robbing and dealing drugs in the area around Piazza della Raibetta, who demanded the handing over of the money but, when he refused, they began to beat him with kicks and punches.

Immediately joined by other subjects, in short the victim she found herself on top of ten people who beat him with kicks, punches, stabbed and hit with tables and chairs taken from the terraces of the kiosk bars present in the square, with absolutely disproportionate violence, in the manner and in the number of people, in order to achieve the goal, i.e. the removal of the few assets owned by the boy.

The beating stopped only when a subject intervened in his defense and other bystanders called the emergency number 112, leading to the escape of the attackers a few moments before the arrival of a State Police car. The young man, who was rescued, suffered injuries judged to be healable in twenty days.

Staff of the "Fighting Widespread Crime" Section of the Flying Squad, after a meticulous analysis of the images of the surveillance cameras in the area, reconstructed the event, and thanks to the knowledge of the subjects gravitating in the area, the result of the countless control and identification services , as well as previous investigative activities on similar cases that occurred in the area in recent months, identified all the participants in the attack with the aim of robbery.

Thanks to the joint coordination of the Juvenile Prosecutor's Office and the Ordinary Prosecutor's Office, in a short time two Precautionary Custody Orders were issued against the eleven attackers, many already involved in other similar incidents and some already previously arrested.

This operation is part of the broader context of the phenomenon of street robberies committed in groups and with particular violence, which in recent months have caused alarm in the city and in particular in the portion of the historic center called "Molo".
