In Piazza De Ferrari The State Police arrested a 35-year-old Moroccan citizen for threatening, resisting and aggravated assault on a PU (Public Official).
The agents, with the help of a patrol of the Guardia di Finanza, they intervened after the man, in an evident state of psychophysical alteration due to alcohol intake, he positioned himself in front of a bar in the square, near the Turkish Consulate, engaging in an altercation with the Italian Army soldiers in charge of the garrison, who had asked him to move away.
When asked to provide an identity document, he immediately showed a violent attitude, hitting the two police officers who suffered injuries that were judged to heal in 3 and 5 days. The man continued the same behavior also in the premises of the Police Headquarters, verbally threatening the officers present and insulting them.
In his pants pocket a small knife was found and for this reason it was also reported for the crime of illegal possession of weapons or objects capable of causing offence, as well as administratively sanctioned for drunkenness. He was tried by direct procedure. The presumption of innocence remains intact until a final conviction.
