Garbatella, two house mice arrested by the state police. They used the “key bumping” technique to open locks with screwdrivers. Numerous thefts prevented
Garbatella, as part of the enhanced services aimed at combating widespread crime, the "Hawks" of the Flying Squad focused their attention on two citizens of Georgian origins, already known to them, who, suspiciously, were walking in the streets of the Appio district intent on carrying out "inspections" in some buildings. Once they got into the car they followed them on sight.
Realizing that the two could commit crimes, the officers implemented a tailing service from via Manlio Torquato where, still in a car, they arrived in via Antonio Pigafetta, where, after parking, the two criminals walked away on foot, distancing themselves by several meters from each other but always remaining in contact by telephone.
With a brisk and cautious step, they headed towards a door in the Garbatella area where one entered the building and the other remained on the street to act as a "post". A few minutes and the first one left with a brisk pace, heading towards the car where his accomplice who had followed him on sight was waiting for him; which is why the officers decided to intervene and stop them.
During the inspection phases, some of the agents carried out an inspection inside the building and noted that a string of transparent glue had been applied to various locks, used to monitor the frequency of access of the owners inside the homes - an expedient used by the Georgians to plan "safe" access to homes.
Having arrived on the 5th floor of the building, the police immediately noticed that the lock of an apartment had glue inserted inside, another technique used for locking called "Key Bumping", which allows you to open the lock with a simple screwdriver.
Having returned to their other colleagues, the two, who in the meantime had been identified as 40-year-old BV and 45-year-old KT, Georgians and both with specific police records, were searched. The personal check gave a positive result, in fact in KT., 1 tube of glue, 9 European cylinder keys and 1 non-punched and machined European cylinder key were found in the right back pocket of his trousers. The check also extended to the car where the police found 5 screwdrivers of different sizes, 1 wrench, 1 metal tack remover, 1 open tube of glue, 1 set of screwdrivers with relative ratchet wrench, 9 socket wrenches, 1 adapter and 25 bit tips of various types and sizes.
Declared under arrest, they were associated with the security rooms of the local police station awaiting the direct response.
