Bari and Taranto, the State Police, delegated by the Public Prosecutor's Office of Taranto, carried out a house search against a forty-year-old for the crime of sexual violence, seizing several smartphones, memory media and telephone cards. It's the same seriously suspected of being the author of the conduct which since September 2021 has led numerous women to file a complaint with the Postal Police Offices following the receipt of phone calls from an individual who presented himself as a gynecologist.
The fake "doctor", using a ploy to hide his telephone number, which therefore appeared anonymous, made it clear to his interlocutors that he was aware of clinical tests carried out by them at healthcare facilities throughout the country.
During the phone call, the fake doctor, representing to the victims the possible presence of serious vaginal infections, induced them to carry out an online gynecological examination.
The investigation, conducted by investigators from the Postal Police Service and the Postal Service of Bari and Taranto, made it possible to trace the man through the analysis of telephone and electronic data, investigations carried out on audio files of telephone calls recorded by the victims and , above all, the collaboration of the latter.
The affair appears to have affected over 400 women throughout Italy whose data, from initial findings, appear to have been obtained from consultation of online sales advertisement portals.
