Foggia, get ready specific control services to guarantee greater safety inthe areas most subject to crime.

The Foggia Police Headquarters in collaboration with the Carabinieri, the Financial Police and the Local Police, since the spring of last year, every day during the day and night, has set up specific inter-force services for extraordinary control of the territory in order to prevent and combat illegal phenomena that can occur in the areas of the city center of Foggia.

In particular, the services are concentrated above all in the areas with a greater aggregation vocation and in those where citizens report particular phenomena of widespread crime and commercial illegal activity:

– “Historic Center” area which includes Piazza Cesare Battisti, Piazza Mercato, Piazza Cattedrale, Via Arpi and Piazza XX Settembre;

– “Quartiere Ferrovia” area, better identified in the area including the “RUSSO” intermodal hub (arrival and departure hub for buses heading both to Italy and to foreign countries), the railway station, Piazza Vittorio Veneto, Viale Manfredi, Viale XXIV Maggio , via Bainsizza, via Monfalcone, via Montegrappa, via Monte Sabotino, via Piave, via Isonzo, via Podgora;

In addition to the areas in the city centre, services are also provided in more decentralized areas such as "Quartiere Candelaro", "Parco San Felice", "Città del Cinema" and "Macchia Gialla".

The above-mentioned operational activities have led to the achievement of important results:

In recent days the Piazza Mercato area has received particular attention and this has made it possible to report young people in possession of small quantities of narcotic substances as well as a person in possession of a knife.

The territorial control services carried out by the Police Forces will continue without interruption.
