Cuneo, a gang specialized in crack dealing defeated: two arrested
In the early hours of July 8, in Luserna San Giovanni (Turin), the Carabinieri of the Saluzzo Company, assisted in the executive phase by those of the Provincial Command of Turin, they executed a custodial order in prison subject to a ban on residing in the provinces of Turin and Cuneo, issued by the GIP of the Court of Turin, at the request of the local Public Prosecutor's Office, dependent on 3 subjects, all of Gambian origin, held responsible for possession and trafficking of narcotics in competition.
The restrictive measure arises from an investigative activity, conventionally called “Crack Stone”, launched in July 2023 by the Carabinieri of the Operational Unit of the Saluzzo Company, which made it possible to identify a house in the municipality of Luserna San Giovanni where a thriving drug dealing activity had been started, mainly crack, also benefiting consumers in the Saluzzo area.
The investigations, in particular, have demonstrated how the suspects, XNUMX precise division of well-defined roles and tasks, took orders from "customers" through coded phone calls e they delivered the narcotic through one of the windows on the ground floor of the house where they lived, as also demonstrated by the images collected by the Carabinieri investigators, confirmed by 5 seizures of single doses paid by buyers who have been reported to the Administrative Authority. In total there are 126 individual drug dealing incidents reported to the three suspects.
At the end of the execution of the measures, which saw around 20 Carabinieri employed, 2 of the suspects were placed in pre-trial detention in prison, while the third was banned from residing in the provinces of Turin and Cuneo.
The operation constitutes an albeit partial response to the growing concern over the increasingly widespread dealing of crack cocaine in the province, drug with devastating effects for consumers but with much lower costs than other substances that were popular.
