The Administrative Police Division of the Police Headquarters, together with the Customs and Monopolies Agency-Territorial Operational Section of Catanzaro, carried out an series of checks against illegal gambling in the municipality of Rocca di Neto.
Following careful checks of two commercial activities, they were subjected to administrative seizure three personal computers not meeting the characteristics required by current legislation on legal gaming, and three electronic entertainment devices without authorization, not connected to the State Monopolies network, with obvious tampering on the game cards, seals and anti-tumbers detected inside.
The aforementioned tampering allowed bypass the form duly authorized by ADM thus allowing the data not to be forwarded to the Agency's electronic system, and furthermore they had clear connections with cables suitable for the purpose of evading taxes with cash winnings that were not registered and accounted for.
At the end of the operations, the interested parties were handed over in a state of freedom, together with each other, to the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Court of Crotone, for the crime of computer fraud.
The offices in question, in addition to the criminal seizure of the electronic devices and money found inside them, with a total value of €1388, will recover the evaded tax and increase the administrative sanctions established in euros from 5.000 to 50.000 for each tampered device, in addition to the closure of the business for thirty to sixty days as an additional sanction.
