Cremona: Stalking and mistreatment in the family, numerous arrests, reports and precautionary measures

The Carabinieri of the Provincial Command of Cremona, always very careful to provide prompt and effective responses to crimes against vulnerable victims, continue their commitment to combating gender-based, domestic and anti-women violence. In this perspective, as a preventive measure, The Carabinieri's constant awareness-raising action continues with the aim of offering, on the one hand, ever greater protection to victims of gender violence and, on the other, ever faster responses.

For this reason the last few months numerous training and prevention meetings have been organised and held in schools and communities in the province to meet the weakest groups (women, elderly, children and vulnerable people) in order to keep the attention high on these crimes, increasing trust in the institutions and the conviction to report. And these meetings will continue also in the month of November, taking into account that the 25th is the "international day for the elimination of violence against women".

But in addition to the prevention activity, aeffective activity to combat cases of stalking and mistreatment in the family. In the last four months the Carabinieri of the Provincial Command of Cremona have:
– well collected 62 crime reports for cases relating to the “red code” category; in 21 cases the Carabinieri took charge of relocating the victims to protected structures identified by the social services of the Municipalities or to the homes of family members;
- 10 precautionary measures were carried out, including removal from the family home and a ban on approaching the victims, almost all with the application of the electronic bracelet;
– done two arrests in flagrante for mistreatment in the family and personal injuries;
– operated three arrests in flagrante for violating precautionary measures of removal from the family home and the prohibition of approaching the victims;
– done two arrests in execution of a custody order in prison for mistreatment in the family, stalking and injuries;
– done three precautionary measures of house arrest with application of the electronic bracelet.

So, it emerges the action of the men of the Arma in the province of Cremona that, in the many cases of gender and domestic violence dealt with, was instrumental in acting promptly, in adopting precise operational methods and specific measures to combat this criminal phenomenon which, under the constant coordination of the Judicial Authority, have, on every occasion, helped to prevent the situation from escalating and to protect vulnerable victims.
