Corigliano-Rossano (Cosenza), a thirty-four year old, with a criminal record, arrested by the State Police for possession of narcotics for the purpose of dealing, also reported for illegal possession of a weapon

In recent days, personnel from the Judicial Police Squad of the Corigliano-Rossano Police Station, within the urban area of ​​Corigliano, arrested a 34-year-old man for possession of narcotics for the purpose of dealing and for illegal possession of a weapon.

The investigators of the Corigliano-Rossano Police Station had been on the trail of the individual for a few days now, on whom there was a pending order of execution for the imprisonment and suspension of the same issued by the Public Prosecutor's Office of Lecce, who is currently untraceable.The investigative activity allowed to identify the young man's domicile in a building in the Schiavonea district of Corigliano, inside which he had taken refuge to lead a shy and reserved life.

The young man, originally from the place, had recently retired to this centre after having spent several years outside the region where he had been responsible, among other things, for some crimes against the person and property and finally in a city in northern Italy where he had established his residence.

On the evening of November 15, after a few days of observation of the house, the men of the City Police Station surprised the young man as he was leaving his apartment. The attitude of the suspect, intolerant of the control, aroused the suspicion of the police but above all the strong smell attributable to the presence of narcotic substances coming from the house, determined the decision of the officers to deepen the control inside the premises.

The house search allowed the discovery inside the house of 10 blocks of Hashish with a total weight of 541,25 grams, 5 glass jars containing a substance of the type "BENZOCAINE", as well as 2 digital precision scales in perfect working order.

The Judicial Police activity concluded with the discovery of a 7,62mm caliber rifle., 124cm long and with a power of 141 joules, the possession of which is prohibited, for which the young man was reported for illegal possession of a weapon.

The man, with a criminal record for crimes against the person, was arrested and taken to the Castrovillari prison at the disposal of the Judicial Authority.
