The State Police of Milano Thursday 23 May 2024 proceeded to the arrest of a 50-year-old Bulgarian citizen, who had been on the run for over 10 years, recipient of an arrest warrant issued by the Bulgarian authorities for drug trafficking.
In particular, the Service for International Police Cooperation of the Central Directorate of the Criminal Police, in recent weeks, had communicated the possible presence in the Milan area of a Bulgarian citizen subject to a European arrest warrant for drug trafficking issued in 2012 by the Bulgarian authorities.
The agents of the Anti-Drug Section of the Flying Squad of Milano they started an investigation aimed at tracing him, immediately hypothesizing the use of false documents since with his real personal details the man had been checked in Italy for the last time in 2009.
The cops have concentrated the searches on some relatives of the wanted man residing in the province of Milano to then locate one of their vehicles recorded several times by cameras between the municipalities of Sesto San Giovanni and Cinisello Balsamo.
Last Thursday, officers stopped and checked the vehicle which was led by the fugitive himself whose home was then identified in Cinisello Balsamo (MI) in an apartment monitored by a camera and, inside the same, they Also found and seized was a dog swatter without a red cap, an Italian identity card, a Bulgarian identity card and a Bulgarian driving licence, all documents which a Scientific Police report has certified as fake. The photo-signalling and comparison of the fingerprints carried out at the Police Headquarters Milano, definitively ascertained that the man tracked down was the actual recipient of the arrest order.
The Bulgarian citizen was arrested and taken to the San Vittore prison at the disposal of the Court of Appeal.
