Ceriano Laghetto, (MB): 39-year-old arrested red-handed for persecutory acts against his ex-wife. The woman was threatened with death by the man who also had a knife with him.

On the night between Monday 5th and Tuesday 6th February, in Ceriano Laghetto, the Carabinieri of the Cesano Maderno Tenenza and of the Radiomobile Section of the Desio Company a 39-year-old Italian man, resident in a nearby municipality, arrested for the crime of persecution.

The arrest occurred following an intervention carried out at the home of a woman, after the latter had asked her sister for help, reporting that her ex-husband had broken into her house and was threatening her.

The military, alerted by calling 112 and arriving immediately on site, found that the front door of the house showed clear signs of forced entry. At that point, they heard the victim's cries for help and rushed into the bedroom, where they found the man who, in an evident state of alteration, he was verbally attacking his ex-wife with explicit death threats.

The soldiers, after having secured the offended party, searched the attacker and a knife was found in his possession, subjecting it to seizure.

From immediate investigative investigations, it emerged that the attack occurred in a context of persecutory conduct that had persisted for some time due to jealousy and was never reported for fear of retaliation.

The arrested person, at the end of the formalities, he was translated to the Monza prison at the disposal of the prosecutor on duty of the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Court of Monza, pending the validation hearing.

It is specified that the suspect is to be considered innocent until a possible final conviction.
