Cecina, Livorno. Wide range control service, a report for drug use. Checked 49 people and 37 vehicles.

In view of the end of the winter period and the greater presences in the coastal areas or in any case those with a tourist vocation, the Carabinieri of the Cecina Company carried out an extensive and detailed territorial control service, extended to the municipalities of Cecina, Castagneto Carducci and Rosignano and with the use of staff from the local stations and the support of the Operational and Radiomobile Unit, aimed at preventing crimes against property, combating the various forms of widespread illegality as well as aiming at road safety.

During the operations they were a total of 49 people and 37 vehicles were checked and 3 violations of the Highway Code were reported including failure to inspect and transport unattended animals, with fines for a total amount of 278 euros.

In terms of combating substance abuse, a 50-year-old from Castagneto Carducci was reported by the local station to the competent Prefecture, as user for non-therapeutic use, as he was caught during the check in possession of approximately 1 gram of a hashish-type narcotic substance.

The checks will also continue in view of the Easter holidays.
