Catania, “taboo operation”: nine arrests and 26 investigated for online child pornography
The taboo operation was conducted and coordinated by the Catania Public Prosecutor's Office, starting from the analysis of computer data in possession of a suspect. The operation allowed to track down 26 suspects and nine arrests throughout Italy, thanks to the collaboration of the various Operational Centers for Cyber Security of the Postal Police throughout Italy.

There are nine flagrant arrests made by the State Police in the course of a vast operation throughout the national territory of contrast to the online child pornography, coordinated by the Catania District Attorney's Office.
The survey, conduct from the Cyber Security Operations Center of Postal Police of Catania, he allowed to investigate 26 people throughout Italy for possession and dissemination of child pornography material, subjected to personal and IT searches.
Investigations, coordinated by the National Center for Countering Online Child Pornography (CNCPO) of the Postal Police Service, they started from a complex IT analysis activity on some electronic devices seized from a suspect, arrested months ago for the same conduct, on which - within a messaging platform - groups had been found dedicated to exchanging gruesome images and videos, even abusing very young children.
Meticulous and complex investigations even of an extremely technical nature led to the identification of the active subjects in the groups, towards of which the Prosecutor's Office issued personal and IT search orders.
The searches were carried out with the collaboration of the various Operational Centers for Cyber Security of the Postal Police, in Catania (1), Rome (3), Milano (3), Brescia (2), Varese (1), Bergamo (1), Catanzaro (1), Bari (2), Foggia (1), Turin (2), Cuneo (1), Genoa (2), Imperia (1), Avellino (1), Livorno (1), Prato (1), Ravenna (1), Ascoli Piceno (1).
Those arrested reside in the provinces of Catania (1), Rome (1), Milano (2), Florence (1), Bergamo (1), Ravenna (1), Varese (1) and Imperia (1). One of them, as well as thousands of child pornography files, had the digital format of the book "Pedophile's Guide" available on his cloud (pedophile's guide).
The material found and seized during the searches is being examined of the investigating magistrates and the Postal Police for further investigative insights also useful for the identification of the young victims.
In any case, the principle of not guilty applies to those under investigation until a final sentence is reached.
