Catania: He returns to his country to kill the women of his family of origin, 50-year-old arrested
He was convinced he had gotten away with it, the 50enne of San Michele di Ganzaria who, last September, he had fled to Germany to avoid a precautionary measure, resulting from the complaint of mistreatment filed by his mother and sister. Man, on the other hand, he was arrested as soon as he landed at the “Bellini” airport in Catania by the Carabinieri of the Catania Fontanarossa Company, in execution of an order to aggravate the aforementioned preventive measure, issued by the Court of Caltagirone.
The facts began a few months ago, when the 50-year-old, who had lived abroad for a few years, returned to Sicily together with a woman and her seven children, demanding that the mother host them all in her home. The elderly woman, in order to please her son, tried to make the complex household work, but the constant and pressing requests for money from her husband and the arguments between him and his partner made the domestic climate unlivable.
For this reason, the lady had also turned to her 44 year old daughter, initially asking her to help her brother financially and then expressing her desire to put an end to that difficult cohabitation. Mother and daughter, therefore, had confronted the man, asking him to leave, but he had reacted by throwing the mother out of the house and brutally attacking the sister. at the town hall, kicking and punching her and causing her to hit her head violently on the pavement.
The two women had therefore filed a complaint at the barracks of San Michele di Ganzeria who immediately informed the Judicial Authority of the seriousness of the 50 year old's conduct, and in fact the judge had ordered that he be subjected to a ban on approaching places frequented by his relatives, with the application of an electronic device that allows for the violation of the precautionary measure to be verified in real time.
He, However, he had managed to escape to Germany before the Carabinieri notified him of the order, and from there he had begun to threaten his sister and her 4-year-old daughter with death: “…Until I kill you, they can make me do 5 months, 6 months, then I'll get out, but until I kill you”.
The woman turned to the local Carabinieri again when she saw that her brother had posted a photograph on social networks near a train station, and after learning that the man had already set off, asking mutual acquaintances for money to buy a plane ticket, with the clear intention of returning to Sicily and killing her, as reported in the audio he had sent her: "I'm getting up now, getting dressed, putting on a nice dress, going to buy a ticket and tomorrow I'll be in town... I'm coming to burn all of you".
Based on the victim's statements, the military personnel of the Arma were able to update the Judicial Authority on what was happening, allowing the Judge to quickly issue the detention order. At the same time, thanks to the widespread presence of the Carabinieri throughout the national territory, the military personnel of the Catania Airport Station were put on alert and began a meticulous activity to trace the flight on which the man had boarded, identifying one departing from Dusseldorf and arriving in Catania in the afternoon.
Once the arrival time was ascertained, the investigators divided into teams, in order to monitor the possible escape routes and, when the 50-year-old landed, he was immediately stopped and arrested, along with his homicidal intentions, then, as established by the ordinance, taken to prison.
