Busto Arsizio, drug trafficking organization dismantled. Precautionary custody of 17 subjects.
Yesterday morning, the State Police of Busto Arsizio, with the help of the Crime Prevention Department of Milano, executed a precautionary custody order issued by the investigating judge of the Court of Busto Arsizio against 17 subjects, 9 of whom were confined in prison and 8 under house arrest with an electronic bracelet, all under investigation for the crime of drug dealing.
The restrictive measure culminated a complex investigation begun more than a year ago by the policemen of the Investigation Team of the Via Foscolo police station, directed by the Public Prosecutor's Office, and made it possible to dismantle a criminal group dedicated to the transport and sale of cocaine , hashish and marijuana in the area of Busto Arsizio and the municipalities of the Olona Valley, but also with branches in the Milanese, Novara, Monza, Alto Verbano and Turin areas, up to Veneto, Lazio, Umbria and Emilia-Romagna.
Starting from the monitoring of a drug dealing activity carried out in Busto Arsizio by some North Africans, the police first identified a couple of brothers of Moroccan origins residing in municipalities in the Olona Valley who offered to transport, on behalf of third parties and on board cars equipped with special hiding places, considerable quantities of drugs.
The two, monitored by investigators, were blocked during the investigations with the collaboration of the State Police Offices territorially competent in the areas of Piacenza and Verbano-Cusio-Ossola while transporting, respectively, batches of 1200 and 350 grams of cocaine. Starting from the "rider" brothers it was then possible to reconstruct, in both directions, the cocaine “supply chain” from suppliers to recipients, that is, the pushers who, having received the drugs, resold them to their own circle of customers.
In addition to this, during the same investigations it was possible to trace a group of traffickers involved in the movement and trade of considerable quantities of hashish and marijuana, as well as in the trafficking of cocaine. Narcotic substances that the traffickers indicated by code names such as “pizzas”, “baguettes”, “cariole”, “medicine”, “honey”; the illicit activity was centered on North African criminals domiciled in municipalities in the Olona Valley and also made use of the collaboration of Italian and Albanian accomplices and supporters.
During the activity, approximately 40 kilograms of hashish, 5 kilograms of marijuana and another 200 grams of cocaine were seized in various operations, to provide concrete confirmation of the investigative hypotheses. The movements of another 90 kg of hashish and at least 4 kg of cocaine were also disputed. In addition to this, it was possible to attribute to some suspects another batch of 115 kilograms of hashish seized in Cesate (MI) in March 2023 on board a car parked in the garage of an apartment building.
Drug discovered after some condominium owners had requested the intervention of the police, suspecting the presence of thieves in the garages, while in reality it was an attempt, made in the circles of traffickers, to steal the cargo from "competitors".
