Brindisi, in car with over 37 kilos of drugs including hashish and marijuana: 44-year-old arrested

Late in the evening of June 24th, the Carabinieri of the Company's Operational and Radiomobile Unit of Brindisi arrested a 44 year old in flagrante delicto of the province of Lecce for the crime of drug trafficking; the man, while he was traveling along the SS 379 at high speed in his car, was blocked by the military. The attitude immediately taken over by the aforementioned, who showed signs of nervousness, Has the Carabinieri became suspicious and deemed it appropriate to investigate further.

The following search operations made it possible to ascertain that the following had been hidden inside the car driven by the man:

- Kg. 31,600 of this type of narcotic substance hashish, divided into three hundred loaves;

- Kg. 5,600 of a type of narcotic substance marijuana, divided into five envelopes.

In consideration of the large quantity and different types of narcotic substances found in the availability of man, it appeared plausible that they were intended for trafficking.

After the ritual formalities, at the disposal of the Judicial Authority, the young man was taken to the Brindisi prison.
