Brescia: Report of operations in 20204 by the Brescia Local Police

The Local Police of Brescia is constantly engaged in the protection of the territory with activities of prevention, control and repression of crimes. Thanks to a capillary activity, in 2024 were 1.232 people reported at large (1221 in 2023) and 80 arrests (as in 2023), 52 of which for drug dealing related crimes (49 in 2023). Among the people reported at large, 44 are minors (68 in 2023). Overall, 73 weapons were seized (18 in 2023) and 167.478 euros in cash (86.400 in 2023). The number of photo reports amounts to 344 (370 in 2023). 234 people were reported for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs (216 in 2023).

The canine unit carried out 413 interventions (360 in 2023), 212 of which in city parks, 78 drug checks and 46 services in schools. The general sanctions for violations of the Urban Police Regulations were 883 (899 in 2023). Of these, 207 for the consumption of alcohol in parks and public gardens, 160 for annoying begging and 70 for bivouacking in public places. As regards the activities of the Territorial Service located in all areas of the city territory, the total number of services carried out in 2024 is equal to 12.959 (12.320 in 2023), of which 1.307 on foot, particularly in the area of ​​the squares and the historic centre.

The action continues profitably of prevention in schools, starting from those of Infancy. In the 2023/2024 school year, Local Police officers met 1.091 children from nursery schools (938 students the previous year), 4.102 Primary School pupils (4.010 in the 2022/2023 school year), 4.391 children from lower secondary schools (2.140 in the 2022/2023 school year), 15.069 secondary school students (16.958 in the 2022/2023 academic year).
