Brescia, new trial for the Piazza della Loggia massacre: two defendants, one was a minor

Brescia, the Brescia Public Prosecutor's Office and the Brescia Juvenile Prosecutor's Office have filed a notice pursuant to art. 415 bis cpp to close the investigations in the proceedings relating to the events in Piazza della Loggia (so-called “Brescia quater”), against two defendants (one of whom, at the time, was a minor). These are proceedings developed in parallel, on the basis of investigative ideas that emerged during the previous trials and in particular in the final stages of the previous "Brescia ter", which ended in 2017 with the final conviction, confirmed by the Court of Cassation, of Carlo Maria Maggi and by Maurizio Tramonte.
The investigations, particularly complex also due to the long time that has passed since the events, were conducted by the ROS of the Carabinieri.
The issuing of the notice pursuant to art. 415 bis cpp marks the deadline for the deposit of a complex body of evidence, the result of complex investigative activities, of the cognitive contribution provided by protagonists of the time (especially those who decided to completely leave behind the violent political experience lived in those years), as well as in-depth investigations on mostly newly acquired material.
The accusatory system that emerges from the documents carried out so far, if confirmed, would insert the position of today's suspects, without fractures, into the framework already traced by the previous "Brescia ter" trial.
