Bolzano, “Safe Halloween” operation. Over 1.900 unsafe products and more than 350 grams of narcotics seized
A large-scale operation was conducted by the Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza of Bolzano in conjunction with the holidays just passed, to combat the trade of products dangerous to public health.
The operations, which involved the entire provincial territory, led to the seizure of over 1.900 items of various kinds, including costume jewelry and decorative items themed around Halloween.
The goods, displayed for sale in numerous commercial establishments, it was found not to have the CE mark, certification affixed by the manufacturer to attest compliance with European standards regarding safety, health and environmental protection or, in any case, lacking the essential information to guide the consumer.
The irregular goods were subjected to administrative seizure, and the managers of the commercial activities involved were reported to the Chamber of Commerce for the application of administrative sanctions that can vary from a minimum of 516 euros to a maximum of over 25.000 euros.
The trade of non-genuine or unsafe products not only represents a risk for consumers but also damages the market, depriving traders who comply with the strict dictates of sector regulations of job and profit opportunities.
At the same time, the Alto Adige Yellow Flames have intensified their economic control activities in the area, in conjunction with the increase in tourist presence expected for the All Saints' Day long weekend, to combat petty crime and the consumption and dealing of narcotics.
In this context, the Green Bachi of the Bolzano Group, with the support of the anti-drug canine units, they seized 130 grams of hashish and 3 doses of cocaine, reported two non-EU citizens at large for drug dealing and reported another foreigner and an Italian to the Government Police Station for possession of narcotics intended for personal consumption.
The specialists of the Economic and Financial Police Unit:
- they arrested an illegal alien, already known to the police, for resistance and violence against a public official: the man, on board an uninsured motorcycle, forced a roadblock and hit a Finance Policeman in a vain attempt to avoid the check;
- they found and seized over 250 grams of cocaine, hidden in the thick vegetation along the banks of the Isarco river in Fortezza, intervening following a report from some citizens who, in that very place, had reported an intense and unusual coming and going of suspicious people.
