Bologna: Carabinieri save the life of a 71-year-old woman who slipped into the Reno River during a walk
It happened at 18:15 pm on September 16, 2024, when the Carabinieri of the Bologna Operations Center received a phone call from a citizen living on the fourth floor of an apartment located near Pontelungo overlooking the Reno River, who, looking out of the window, reported having spotted the silhouette of a person on the water.

It happened at 18pm on 15 September 16, when the Carabinieri of the Bologna Operations Centre received a phone call from a citizen living on the fourth floor of an apartment located near Pontelungo which overlooks the Reno River, who, looking out of the window, he reported seeing the shape of a person on the water.
Upon hearing the news, the Carabinieri quickly direct to the indicated area from the applicant and when they arrived, they saw a woman clinging to a boulder, after being dragged by the current, with her submerged body losing consciousness. The Carabinieri dived in, reached the woman, dragging her out because she was having trouble cooperating, due to hypothermia. Dragged to shore by the Carabinieri, the elderly woman slowly recovered, then was identified as a 71-year-old woman from Modena, resident in Bologna.
He told the military that having slipped into the river while walking, clinging to the rock and asking for help for an hour, fearing she would drown, due to the loss of consciousness that would have made her let go. Rescued by the 118 health workers, the woman was transported to the Emergency Room of the Maggiore Hospital with a medium severity code for tests.
