On July 19, 2023, State Police personnel, during the territorial control services set up for the prevention and repression of crimes in the Mesagna area, drew on arrest in flagrante del crime of possession of a narcotic substance for the purpose of trafficking a young criminal from Torre S. Susanna. In particular, personnel of the Flying Squad of the Mesagne Police Station, while carrying out a check point on the road to San Vito near the junction of the SS7 Mesagne Centro, noticed a large-displacement scooter whose driver, in the sight of the Mesagne Police State, with a lightning-fast maneuver, changed direction and made a sudden escape towards San Vito dei Normanni (BR).
The operators immediately set out in pursuit of the man and, after a few kilometres, managed to stop the vehicle's mad dash. At the time of the inspection, hidden under the scooter seat a was found and seized “block” of narcotic substance of the pure cocaine type with a net weight of 100 g. A sum of money was also seized and, as investigations continued, a jammer (frequency jammer used as an anti-interception device) was found and seized from his home.
Following the technical analyzes of the Scientific Police personnel and at the end of the ritual formalities, the young man was being arrested and, as ordered by the PM on duty at the Public Prosecutor's Office of Brindisi, translated to the Brindisi Prison at the disposal of the AG
