Bibbona. The Carabinieri identify and report the alleged perpetrator of a scam against the owner of a tobacconist.

In this context, the carabinieri of the Bibbona station, at the end of investigations and investigations started from a complaint from the owner of a tobacco shop in Bibbona, identified and reported a 35-year-old man with multiple criminal convictions from Grosseto for fraud.

In December, the merchant had received a request from a customer for a top-up worth 300 euros via a platform that allows the release of prepaid codes to be redeemed. At the time of payment the customer submitted a card not working and then left claiming to go to withdraw the corresponding sum in cash without however returning.

That same evening the operator verified that the good from 300 euro appeared to have been redeemed as, presumably, the so-called customer, in a moment of distraction, had nevertheless managed to steal the code generated by the platform and use it. After several attempts to contact the man, who repeatedly put forward the most varied pretexts for to justify failure to pay, this ultimately caused him to disappear.

The victim then turned to the Carabinieri of Bibbona who started investigations, managing to give a name and a face to the scammer, no stranger to similar conduct, who will have to answer to the Labronica AG for the crime of fraud.
