Belluno, ROADPOL arrives: cooperation network between traffic police, created under the aegis of the European Union, for everyone's safety

Belluno, The European Road Police Network “ROADPOL” has scheduled, from 8 to 14 March 2021, the implementation of the joint European campaign called “SEATBELT" (seat belts).

ROADPOL, as our readers will remember, is a network of cooperation between road police forces, created under the aegis of the European Union, to which all member countries of the European Union belong, except Greece and Slovakia, as well as Switzerland, Serbia , Turkey and also the Dubai Emirate Police (United Arab Emirates) as an observer.

Italy is represented by the Traffic Police Service within the Ministry of the Interior,

The Organization develops operational cooperation between European Traffic Police with the aim of reducing the number of road victims and road accidents, in compliance with the European Action Plan 2021 – 2030, through joint international operations to combat violations and “thematic” campaigns across Europe within specific strategic areas.

The ultimate objective is to raise road safety standards, harmonizing prevention, information and control activities, also through communication campaigns and joint operations whose results are then monitored by the ROADPOL Operational Group.

The aim of the campaign “seat belt” was to effectively combat, on all major European roads, the failure to use seat belts by drivers of motor vehicles, so that awareness and awareness could be developed that, at the same time, all European Union traffic police forces were operating with the same methods, homogeneous tools and a common objective.

The Traffic Police Department for "Trentino Alto Adige and Belluno", on which the undersigned Office depends, as part of the activities planned throughout the entire national territory, has prepared and coordinated the carrying out, around the clock, of targeted checks on the motorway arteries and on those of major national communication, using all available resources drawn from the Departments operating in the provinces of their competence.

The Belluno Traffic Police Section, also on this occasion, participated in the Operation by arranging, on different dates and times, exclusive services on the main provincial arteries, achieving notable results in terms of the number of vehicles checked (133 vehicles), detecting a total of 50 infringements relating to non-use of seat belts.

Other campaigns and other tasks await the women and men of the "Specialty", among which, perhaps, the most demanding one is represented by the further reduction in road mortality which has been predicted at Community level for the same decade, and to them the Belluno Traffic Police, together with its peripheral branches of Valle di Cadore and Feltre, will exert maximum energy in order to guarantee legality and safety at all levels.
