Valiate (Cremona), they beat up a 61-year-old in a public square: the two thugs identified.
At the end of a month-long investigation, the Carabinieri of the Vailate station reported two 22-year-old Italian citizens, resident in the province of Bergamo and Cremona, for private violence, aggravated personal injury, threats and damage, one of whom with previous police officers, held responsible for having violently attacked and beaten a 61-year-old man following an argument.
The beating
On the evening of February 26th, shortly after 20.00 pm, a man was driving his car and, in Piazzale Aldo Moro in Vailate, he hit a boy with the rear-view mirror of his vehicle who, in the company of others, was walking down the street. from the sidewalk.
The driver stopped to apologize and ask if the boy had been hurt, but he was joined by a group of young people, two of whom opened the doors of his car and entered the passenger compartment, attacking him with punches and kicks in various parts of the body, threatening to kill him, kicking his car, tearing off the windshield wipers and destroying the mirrors.
The man managed to set off in reverse, but was chased on foot by one of them who however was unable to catch up with him. He moved away and managed to reach his home, requesting the intervention of a carabinieri patrol who arrived shortly after, acquiring the first information.
Subsequently the man was taken to the Crema hospital where he was diagnosed with a fracture of the fingers of one hand with which he had blocked a kick that had been thrown at him while he was sitting in the car and various bruises and bruises, for a prognosis of 30 days of treatment.
The reconstruction of the facts
The Vailate military, having acquired the 61-year-old's complaint, began investigations to identify the perpetrators. The young people came from the car park in Piazzale Aldo Moro and, consequently, also based on the time in which the attack occurred, the military acquired images from the video surveillance systems present in the town, on the square and on the access roads to the itself, checking with which car they had arrived on site and also seeing the entire scene of the beating.
They recognized one of the young perpetrators as having arrived on his own, while further investigations had to be carried out for the second. They noticed that the second young man had arrived by car with some friends and, after parking, they met with the other boy. Then, after the beating they split up.
The young man who had arrived on his own left alone, while the second young man returned with his friends to the car and, together, they left the town. All the times coincided with what the victim reported in the complaint.
Therefore, it was possible to acquire the vehicle's license plate number and ascertain who the owner of the vehicle was. The military acquired photographs of the man who arrived on his own and was already recognized and of the owner of the vehicle seen in the images.
The complaints
They prepared a photographic file which they showed to the victim who recognized the two 22 year olds as the perpetrators of the crime. Other witnesses present at the attack also saw the photos and recognized them as the two attackers that evening.
At the end of the investigation, they both reported to the judicial authorities for what they had committed.
