In the continuation of the targeted territorial control services ordered by the Police Chief of the province of Vicenza, late Thursday afternoon, State Police officers from the Vicenza Police Headquarters intervened in the Ponte Alto area at the request of a young girl who reported an ongoing argument with her boyfriend and feared for her safety.

Upon the arrival of the patrols, DCM, aged 25, got into his car to escape, ramming one of the police service cars and attempting to run over an officer who in the meantime had got out of the vehicle, managing to escape.. After a long and dangerous chase along the southern ring road of the city, during which another service car and some cars of road users were hit, the fugitive was stopped in the locality of Lapio in the municipality of Arcugnano (VI).

Based on the activity carried out by the agents of the Flying Squad and the Flying Section, the young man was arrested for attempted murder, resisting a public official and aggravated personal injury and taken to the local prison at the disposal of the judicial authorities.
