Alcamo: unauthorized waste management and illegal combustion.
The Carabinieri of the Alcamo Company executed an order for the application of precautionary measures, issued by the GIP of the Court of Trapani, against two people from Alcamo aged 52 and 25, father and son respectively, allegedly responsible for having deposited waste on land and then setting it on fire.
The investigation began last January following an intervention by the Alcamo Carabinieri who, during an evening patrol, noticed the beginning of a fire in an isolated area of the countryside.
Having reached the place, identified in an unfenced area of that Fastuchera district, the soldiers ascertained that in the immediate vicinity of a cane thicket various types of dangerous waste had been set on fire and otherwise, among which were parts of furniture, fixtures, doors and windows, furnishing materials, chandeliers, doors, roller shutters with plastic shutters and cans of paint.
After alerting the Fire Brigade to put out the fire, the soldiers viewed the video surveillance images from which they could see the transit of a lorry, loaded with furniture, with the two men on board.
The investigative findings, fully shared by the Judicial Authority, highlighted serious indications of guilt towards the two people from Alcamo achieved by the precautionary measures of the ban on residence in the municipality of Alcamo, for the 52 year old, and the obligation to report to the Judicial Police for the 25 year old.
