In accordance with the decisions of the Public Order and Safety Committee, chaired by the Prefect of Trapani, Dr. Daniela Lupo, last weekend, the State Police of Alcamo, following instructions given by the Police Chief of Trapani, Dr. Giuseppe Felice Peritore, has arranged extraordinary administrative checks on numerous public and commercial establishments and gaming halls located in the central Piazza della Repubblica, a regular meeting place for foreign citizens and young people addicted to alcohol and drug consumption.

During the services, carried out with the assistance of Agents of the Palermo Crime Prevention Department, the operators of the Alcamo Police Station availed themselves of the valid collaboration of personnel from the regional and provincial offices of the Customs and Monopolies Agency, as well as from the local Guardia di Finanza Company and the Municipal Police.

Within the scope of the aforementioned controls, 130 people were checked, including several criminals, 51 vehicles with 9 violations of the Highway Code. From the point of view of administrative checks on public establishments, the operators of the administrative team of Alcamo, together with personnel from the Customs and Monopolies Agency and the Guardia di Finanza, they carried out targeted checks at two internet points and a games room, proceeding with the seizure of a device intended for online gambling on sports events and casino games that do not comply with the characteristics established by law and contesting an administrative offence which provides for the payment of the fine of €50.000,00.

They were also checked, together with personnel from the Municipal Police, three pubs, one of which was fined for occupation of public land. The aforementioned control activity follows, a few weeks later, the one aimed at capillary control of the territory carried out in the historic centre, a meeting place for young people, which has often been the scene of fights involving minors and foreign citizens.

This activity has allowed us to collect useful elements to promote and obtain from the Police Chief of Trapani the issuing of four measures of the so-called DACUR. (Prohibition of access to urban centres), against four very young subjects, two of whom were minors and one of North African nationality, with whom they were banned, for a period of three years, from accessing and staying in the so-called movida area and in the public places located there.
