Agrigento, ultras in trouble: arrests and 8 daspo

Fans from Agrigento attacked the police after the match between Akragas and Pro Favara

Agrigento, arrests and 8 charges against ultras.

In the late afternoon of August 28th, at the “Esseneto” municipal stadium in Agrigento, at the end of the football match between Akragas and Pro Favara, valid as the first leg of the Italian Cup of Excellence, a group of around 20 fans from Agrigento attacked the police garrison, first chanting threatening and outrageous chants, and then throwing rocks and glass bottles at the officers.

Two of them were arrested in flagrante delicto for violence and threats to a public official and personal injury.

The investigative activities aimed at identifying the other perpetrators, immediately undertaken by DIGOS and UPGSP, made it possible to identify 5 other subjects. Three of these were arrested in flagrante delicto, while 2 others were reported in a state of freedom.

On 29 August, further investigative developments made it possible to identify three other subjects, adults, who were arrested in deferred flagrante delicto; the other, a minor, was reported in a state of freedom.

Finally, on August 30th, the Police Commissioner of the Province of Agrigento, Dr. Rosa Maria Iraci, has issued 8 daspo.
