Acate, Carabinieri control of the territory: 2 arrests for illicit possession of rifles, modified pistols, numerous cartridges and approximately 150 grams of marijuana.

The Carabinieri of the Provincial Command of Ragusa continues to combat weapons and drug crimes. In particular, on the morning of the 13th, the Carabinieri of the Compagnia di Vittoria carried out extraordinary control services in the territory wide-ranging to combat crimes in general.

The activity made it possible to proceed with the arrest of 2 people from Vittoria, father and son, respectively identified in OB, cl.60, and OG, cl.85, responsible for the crimes of possession for the purpose of dealing of approximately 150 grams of marijuana and illicit possession of weapons and ammunition.

The territorial controls focused on the municipality of Acate where the Carabinieri of the local station, with the support of the personnel of the Helicopter Squadron "Hunters of Sicily", carried out an inspection within an Acatese agricultural company.

The police activity made it possible to find in the appurtenances of the agricultural company, and precisely hidden inside a warehouse building, marijuana for a total of approximately 150 grams together with material for packaging the substance.

Having noted what emerged, the military carried out one search of the premises, also finding, in the same warehouse, 3 blank pistols, suitably modified to explode shots, and 2 clandestine rifles whose serial numbers were partially abraded.

Furthermore, further investigations made it possible to discover the possession of 320 cartridges of various calibers and in any case all considered compatible to have exploded from the weapons found.
The Carabinieri therefore subjected to seizure the weapons, ammunition and the narcotic substance, accompanying the two Vittorianos to the offices for identify them completely.

Once the ritual acts were completed, the military proceeded to take the two into custody arrest to the Judicial Authority for the crimes of illegal possession of weapons, alteration of weapons, illicit possession of ammunition and illicit possession of narcotic substances.
