Camaiore (Lucca): Machete blade to the throat of the pharmacist. The author of the ferocious robberies at the pharmacies has been arrested.
It is 17pm on May 30th when a man enters the Ciucci pharmacy in Piano di Mommio completely misrepresented with a motorcycle helmet, gloves and anti-Covid mask.
Suddenly he goes behind the counter and he grabs the doctor's arm and shouts at her to give him the keys to the safe. The woman, terrified by the man who continued to pull her, screams the name of her colleague who is in the warehouse to ask for help but when she arrives, she is also grabbed the latter by the hair and jerked her and then threatened her with the machete blade which she placed at her throat and only after hitting her on the head, creating a wound.
The two women are in a confused and terrified state but still manage to ensure that one of them manages to free herself to ask for help while the other, to block the man she is injured in the hand. The man then takes possession of the money in the cash register and drives away on a dark motorbike whose license plate has been falsified.
The Carabinieri who immediately arrived on site immediately rescued the two women by calling in the Misericordia staff and, at the same time, acquired footage from the pharmacy and the cameras present on the street.
The analysis of the declarations, of the items of clothing worn and the study of the route to reach and depart from Pian di Mommio, allowed the military to acquire elements such as to suspect some people residing in the municipalities of Carrara and La Spezia.
From that moment, the military tried to cross-reference all the elements acquired and began to follow the suspects, collecting a series of information, which allowed them to exclude some suspects.
For the ways in which the pharmacy robbery occurred, for the injuries sustained with innate ferocity and for the violence that shook the community the Carabinieri investigated tirelessly for days to finally identify the perpetrator.
The investigations conducted focused on an Italian who works for a company in La Spezia and also frequents a gym whose height, build and gait were identical to the perpetrator of the robbery. Analyzing the images from the cameras present in the Municipality of La Spezia, it was ascertained that the subject had also stolen the motorbike with which he had gone to Massarosa.
On the basis of the evidence collected, the Public Prosecutor's Office of Lucca was informed that the author was an Italian man of about 45 years of age detained with permission to leave the La Spezia prison to go to work.
The Deputy Prosecutor immediately forwarded the request to the GIP who signed the order pre-trial detention in prison which was carried out on June 7, interrupting any form of permit.
The Carabinieri are continuing their work to determine whether the person was responsible for other robberies in the province of Lucca, while in the Pian di Mommio and Massarosa communities, the population expressed warm thanks to the Carabinieri Station - the only Police Force station in the area - which in just a few days managed to identify the robber and bring him to justice, effectively reaffirming the age-old closeness of the force to the population.
