Vicenza. Joint checks in Montecchio Maggiore: 110 people identified and 16 vehicles checked.

During the day of April 3, they were implemented specific joint checks in Montecchio Maggiore (VI) by the State Police, Carabinieri and Local Police with the aim of preventing and combating widespread crime, the irregular presence of foreigners in the area and urban decay.

The controlled areas: Via Mascagni, Via Fogazzaro, Via Trieste, Via Volta.

The Traffic Police has set up checkpoints near the motorway toll booth, while the Railway Police checked the railway yards closest to Montecchio Maggiore.

The residence status of some of the checked persons was examined by specialists from the Immigration Office.

The results of the activity:

- 110 people identified/checked, of which 42 foreigners and 29 with criminal and/or police records, 16 vehicles and 7 public establishments/bars and betting shops checked.

The activity was arranged following a specific meeting held in the Prefecture, with the participation of the provincial leaders of the Police Force.
