Verona, a "timely and unexpected emergency": this is how a Veronese citizen described the misadventure that involved him yesterday afternoon. But more than him, the real protagonist of the story was the 93-year-old mother, whose disappearance was reported shortly before 15.00pm. The elderly lady had moved away from her apartment and, when it was time to return, she realized that she was no longer able to find her way home.
Disoriented, hot and demoralized, the woman was tracked down about 2 km from the house by an off-duty policeman who, together with a police patrol, gave first aid to the 93-year-old and then accompanied her home. The son, relieved by the discovery of his elderly mother, heartily thanked not only his colleague who recognized her, but also all the police officers who, at that time, were engaged in the search: "I sincerely thank all the staff of the State Police who immediately took action and promptly resolved our sudden and unexpected emergency; the professionalism, sensitivity and courtesy you have shown have been of great comfort to us." Another story that ended with a happy ending thanks to our policemen in Verona.
