Vercelli, they beat and rob a disabled man: an arrest
Vercelli, the arrested person will have to serve a sentence of 4 years and 4 months
Vercelli, yesterday morning the State Police executed an order for imprisonment issued by the Judicial Authority of Turin against a person because he was found guilty of robbery and other crimes against property.
In 2019, the Flying Squad of the Vercelli Police Headquarters concluded a flash investigation that had begun a few days earlier following the complaint - a complaint filed by a Moroccan citizen, who had stated that the previous evening he had been approached inside his home by two men who, after threatening him to simulate an attack on them and subsequently reporting it to the police, asked him for the sum of one thousand euros in cash.
When the man, 85% disabled and suffering from numerous pathologies, responded negatively, the two began hitting him on the face and legs in an attempt to convince him to hand over the requested sum.
Subsequently, the man, scared and ready to hand over the money requested by the two criminals in order to escape the violence of the two, said he was willing to go to the ATM at the Central Post Office to withdraw at least part of the requested money.
Along the journey between his home and the ATM, the man, driving his car, even if accompanied by criminals, managed to reach the entrance to the Vercelli Police Headquarters where he attracted the attention of the police personnel, causing the escape of the criminals.
Yesterday evening the men of the "Catturandi" of the Flying Squad reached one of the two criminals, an Italian citizen of Moroccan origin, 23 years old, resident in Vercelli, already subjected to the house arrest regime, with numerous precedents for crimes against property and for of drugs, to bring him to justice.
The man, at the end of the ritual formalities, was associated with the local prison where he will have to serve a sentence of four years and four months of imprisonment as well as a fine of 3000 euros.
The second criminal has, in the meantime, died in prison where he was confined for another reason.
