Over the weekend, as usual, joint checks were carried out, coordinated by the State Police with the help of the Carabinieri, the Financial Police and the Municipal Police, in the city center aimed at combating the "bad nightlife". ”.
On Friday and Saturday the checks were concentrated in the Porta Nuova and San Salvario areas and then moved to all the areas of Turin's nightlife affected by the influx of a large number of people such as Piazza Santa Giulia, via Borgo Dora, Piazza Vittorio Veneto and surrounding streets.
Overall, 272 people were checked, one person was arrested for possession for the purpose of dealing, 3 were reported for refusing to give their personal details. Of the 10 public places, 2 were fined 1000 euros due to poor hygienic conditions. 10 people were fined for violating road rules when riding bicycles and scooters for a total of 500 euros. The Upgsp dog unit also intercepted, in the square in front of the railway station, 4 subjects with small quantities of narcotic substances who were reported to the local Prefecture. One of them had just been released from prison and was already subject to the obligation to report to the judicial police.
Police services in the above-mentioned areas will continue on a regular basis.
