Turin, escapes from house arrest and robs the same shop twice.

A 38-year-old Italian citizen was arrested by officers of the San Secondo State Police Station as she was seriously suspected of committing the crime of escape.

Saturday afternoon, the State Police of Turin intervened at a supermarket in Corso Marche where security personnel were detaining a woman who was allegedly responsible for attempted theft.

The second theft

Once on site, after having made contact with the applicants, the agents learned that the woman had taken possession of products worth more than 170 euros.

Specifically, the woman was seen by a security officer placing some products in a bag. Once she reached the checkout she would have paid for part of the goods but not for the ones placed in the bag. Once past the checkout barrier, the thirty-eight year old was stopped by supermarket staff who contacted the police.

The first theft

The agents also learned of the possibility that she, about an hour before the intervention, would have illegally taken possession of other goods within the same store, removing them without paying.

The police verify that in the car of a person in the company of the woman, who was found to be unrelated to the facts, there is an ice cream bag, with food products worth around 60 euros inside, without a receipt certifying the payment.

This merchandise is recognized as belonging to the supermarket staff and, following inventory checks, it emerges that it had been illegally removed. All the products recovered by the agents were returned to the store.

House arrest

Subsequently, it was ascertained that the thirty-eight year old was subjected to the home detention regime for the execution of a sentence and that she left her home without authorization and outside the hours indicated in the order. For this reason the woman, already reported in a state of freedom for theft and attempted aggravated theft, was arrested for escape.

The criminal proceedings are currently in the preliminary investigation phase, therefore the presumption of not guilt of the suspect applies until the final sentence.
