Turin: the State Police saves a man who is about to throw himself from a height of 10 metres.
It's Wednesday evening, Fabio and Adriano, two policemen from the Madonna di Campagna police station on Volante duty listen to the radio urgent report relating to a man who threatens to commit suicide because he is tired of living.
The operator of the radio room finds as much information as possible: the man, in an evident state of confusion, manages to provide a single useful indication, that is, to see the “Giovanni Bosco” hospital from its position.
The police quickly set out to search for the subject and after a few minutes they track him down in via Monterosa, where they see a man astride the balustrade of the bridge overlooking the canal. As he approaches, the man expresses his desire to end it by screaming at the police to stay away from him, while he finds himself precariously balanced on the wall, almost completely overlooking the void.
The officers therefore remain at a sufficient distance to be able to speak to him without him making sudden gestures; after a few minutes, realizing that the man may be about to jump and that, considering the height, around 10 metres, he could suffer fatal consequences, with a lightning-fast sprint they reach him, grabbing him by the jacket and holding him back.
In the following minutes, a second squad car from the PS Barriera command arrives Milano, who helps colleagues to permanently secure the man, taking him to the sidewalk.
The 118 staff will then accompany the rescued person to the hospital to check their condition.
