Trapani: a fishmonger stabbed, the State Police arrests a Trapani man for attempted murder.

The police officers of the Trapani Police Headquarters have executed an arrest warrant against a fifty-year-old from Trapani, with serious police records, presumed responsible for attempted murder.
The Operations Room received a report of an injured man, collapsed on the pavement in front of the side entrance to the Police Headquarters.

While the police were helping the injured man, an anonymous call to 112 reported the presence of a man armed with a crowbar in via Ammiraglio Staiti. The second call was followed by a third: a subject said he had been involved in a fight that had broken out at the city fish market and that he feared for his life, because he was being chased by a man armed with a stick.
The subsequent intervention of the Flying Squad investigators allowed for clarity on the three episodes, all attributable to a single criminal event.
Around 7 o'clock that morning, an argument broke out between two fishmongers working at the fish market; one of the two, after the altercation, walked away, only to return brandishing a large knife, one of those used to fillet salmon or tuna; he then lunged at the victim, seriously injuring her arm and back.

The injured man had fled and, helped by two passers-by, had asked to be taken to the police station to file a complaint; once there, however, his conditions had worsened.
Shortly after the stabbing, the attacker drove away in his van; along Via Ammiraglio Stati he was stopped by the car driven by the victim's father who, holding a crowbar, forced him to get out of the vehicle.

The man, chased for several meters, fearing for his safety, called the police. Later, he confessed to the crime and to having gotten rid of the knife thanks to the help of his brother, also a fishmonger, who was present at the time of the attack.
After being arrested for attempted murder, which was duly validated by the GIP of the Court of Trapani, the attacker was taken to prison, where he is currently being held.
The victim suffered a serious wound to the right forearm, a typical defensive injury, with a partial fracture of the bone, and a second wound to the back, both judged to heal in thirty days.
Traces of blood were found on an inside wall of the fish market which, at the time of the fight, was full of people.
The investigations of the Flying Squad, coordinated by the local Prosecutor's Office, continue to clarify the reasons for the fight and the possible involvement of third parties.
